Five Dozen Ears

In the spirit of Embracing the Seasons I offer a glimpse of our family's annual corn harvest party.

Pick it at the local farm.

Heat up the water.

Like a little hot tub for cobs.

Ice bath!

Out the kitchen door to the table where Tom removes the sweet kernels.

Cassie and Caroline bag it for the freezer.

"It's fun to do this every year, Mommy!"

Corn.

One weird thing about me: I don't care for corn off the cob! I don't know why, but I'll only eat in on the cob!

I just had my corn for dinner - it was excellent! I might have to go and get more tomorrow!

WC - you're not the first person I've heard of who prefers her corn on the cob. It's certainly more FUN that way.

And yay for you finding excellent corn!! I've got four more ears in the fridge still in the husk. Tomorrow!

I'll think of you.
