Huckleberries - August Delight

Funny how certain aromas conjure up vivid mental images of days gone by.

Huckleberries bring my grandparents right back to me - lucid day dreaming.

I cherish the experience. Every time.

Huckleberry picking yielded berries enough for muffins along with a good conversation with Grandma and Grandpa.

The berries did most of the talking.

Sweet!

Nice! Your berries look much redder and plumper than ours. Ours look like miniature blueberries. The muffins look great!

Green: Ah, sorry about that.

Lotto: thanks!

WC: Most of these berries are a bit underripe, but they are biggish, but not as big as blueberries. They get more purple as they ripen. The bushes had been picked over and only mid-ripe and green ones were left, sprinkled with a few nice juicy ripe ones. Sure tasted good though!
